INNSBRUCK, Austria – Austria is back in the top division and they will have to travel just across the border to take part in Switzerland 2009. Kazakhstan is second, Poland third and Korea relegated.

SAPPORO, Japan – Hungary has qualified for Switzerland 2009. Ukraine had to settle with silver and hosts Japan earned bronze after a 7-3 win over Estonia, who were relegated.
Six awards to five nations in the World Championship Division I groups
INNSBRUCK/SAPPORO – Six best player awards were handed out in the World Championship Division I in Innsbruck and Sapporo. Players from five teams earned honours.
