FARGO-MOORHEAD, USA – The USA trounced Russia 5-0 to capture gold at the 2009 IIHF World U18 Championship at the Urban Plains Center on Sunday. Earlier, Finland claimed bronze with a comeback 5-4 shootout win over Canada.

FARGO-MOORHEAD, USA – In Friday's second World U18 semi-final game, Jerry D'Amigo scored the third-period winner as the USA ousted Canada 2-1 and advanced to face Russia in Sunday's gold medal game. The Russians blanked Finland 4-0 in the first semi-final, as goalie Igor Bobkov made 51 saves.
