New attendance record set

OTTAWA - At the Canada-Russia semi-final on Saturday, it was announced that a new tournament attendance record of 377,834 has been established.

The figure will climb with five games yet to be played, including Monday's medal games.

The previous World Junior attendance record was set in Vancouver, British Columbia in 2006. That figure of 374,353 eclipsed the record of 242,173 from Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia in 2003.
