Germany may be short-handed

Two injured players might not be ready

CHICAGO--Germany might be short-handed for its historic semi-final clash with Canada on Friday in the WW U18 Championship. Jacqueline Janzen, who was taken off the ice on a stretcher in overtime of the team's big win against Finland last night, is feeling better but might not be able to play. Janzen hurt her leg when she crashed into the end boards after being tripped. No bones were broken, but it was a jarring hit all the same. Team doctors will decide tomorrow morning if she'll be cleared to play.

As well, forward Julia Seitz missed the last game and is likely done for the tournament after undergoing minor surgery. Team officials would only say it was an ENT issue (ear-nose-throat) and that she was doing well.

Janzen has one goal and three assists in the tournament while Seitz has yet to record a point in three games.
