Important information for visitors

Coming to the Arena

Come early and use the public transportation is the best advice. Hockey Garden provides loads of things to do and see to the game spectators and others interested to feel the Hockey atmosphere. It is also important to reserve enough time for the security checks.

Hockey Garden

Hockey Garden, in front of the Arena, opens on Friday morning and offers lots to do before the games and serves the game spectators as well as all the others interested about the games. The 1 1,400 square meters metres big restaurant tent is divided to three parts – Café, Food and Sport. On the stage you can see Hockey legends and known Sony Music artists from the Official Leijonat CD. The performance list and the Hockey Garden program will be published on previous day.

Hockey Garden serves fans in all age groups and the minors can enter the restaurant accompanied by their parents. Hockey Garden opens its doors always two hours before the first game of the day and closes one hour after the last game has finished.

Security checks

The Arena will be opened to public an hour and half prior the game and will be emptied after each game.
To make the security checks smooth it is advised that all game visitors leaves home all sharp metal objects, alcohol and wuwuzelasvuvuzelas, which are prohibited in the Arena surroundings.

Extra trains and buses for the game spectators

There is a limited amount of parking space with fees available so the public transportation is the best option. The commuter and long distance trains stop close to the Hartwall Arena. The State Railways (VR) will operate some extra trains on the game nights.
From Helsinki city center centre buses 23 and 69 as well as trams 7A, 7B and 9 will take you to the Arena. Bus routes 22B and 30 will drive extra rounds from the Arena after all Finland games as well as the quarter-, semi- and the final games.
Those coming with bicycles should note the limited space availability around the Arena. Good advice is to leave the bike a bit from the Arena and walk the rest.

Note! On Saturday May 5 it is expected to get very crowded around the Arena due to the Helsinki CityRun event. There will be breaks and route changes on public transportation between 7AM and 7PM.  Buses 23 and 69 are affected due to the fact that Nordenskiöldinkatu is closed and for the same reason trams 7A and 7B will drive alternative routes, but will resume the normal route at Pasila Station. Please check for inormation here.
