The Eurosport group secured the rights for three major events of the IIHF World Championship program for the 2008-2009 season.

Eurosport has announced to broadcast games live and delayed from the 2009 IIHF World U20 Championship in Ottawa, Canada, starting on Friday; from the 2009 IIHF World Women’s Championship in Hämeenlinna, Finland, April 8-12; and the final round of the 2009 IIHF World U18 Championship in Fargo and Moorhead, United States, April 9-19.

Games on Eurosport 2 can be watched across Europe and they will also be broadcast on Eurosport Asia Pacific.
