The 2010 IIHF World Championship has been allocated to Germany and is taking place from May 7 to 23, 2010.

The venues are the 18,500-capacity Kölnarena in Cologne and the 13,500-seat SAP Arena in Mannheim.

The opening game will take place in the football stadium Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen with a potential capacity of 75,976.

The official website to the tournament, www.iihfworlds2010.com, will be launched in early 2009.
