Win qualification tournament


Austria will advance to the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey Women's U18 Division I tournament.

KRYNICA-ZDRÓJ – Austria’s women’s U18 national team will move up to Division I next year after winning the 2014 IIHF Women's U18 World Championship Division I Qualification tournament in Poland.

The team ensured that it would qualify for Division I midway through the qualification tournament when it defeated hosts Poland, who finished in second place, by a score of 3-1. Captain Annika Fazokas scored the game winner and finished the tournament with three goalss and four assists in four games, good enough to earn her second place on the scoring table and a selection as the tournament’s best defenceman.

Kamila Wieczorek, Poland’s top forward who had nine goals in the tournament including two hat tricks and a five-point performance against China, earned Directorate Top Forward honours. Poland’s Katarzina Fiyol won Directorate Best Goaltender.
