ZURICH – Georgia and Kuwait were introduced as the 67th and 68th members of the International Ice Hockey Federation last week at the Annual Congress in Berne.

Georgia is a former Soviet country and the last of the three countries in the Caucasus region to join the IIHF after Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Kuwait regained membership after it has was expelled more than 15 years ago due to lack of hockey activity. The Kuwaiti hockey program is back with its recent participation in two tournaments, the 2007 Asian Games and the 2008 Arab Cup.
