Shoichi Tomita   Close Biography
Shoichi Tomita is one of the IIHF officials who had been active on the ice. The IIHF Vice President born on 1 January 1936 in Tokyo (Japan) played for 15 years as goalkeeper in the top league in Japan and competed with the Japanese national team in the 1960 Olympic tournament and in the 1962 world championship.

He has been working in official functions for his national association, first as Management Director and recently as Executive Director. He is a member of the Japanese Olympic Committee. Shoichi Tomita is a member of the IIHF Council since 1978 and Vice President since 1994. He is chairman of the IIHF Asian Oceanic and Development Committees and member of the Executive Committee.
