MOSCOW/BUFFALO – Russian U20 national team coach Mikhail Varnakov named 29 candidates for the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship, and received one more as the Buffalo Sabres will loan forward Mikhail Grigorenko for the tournament.

Judging by recent World Junior Championship performances, including last year’s gold medal in Ufa, Russia, the United States’ identity is synonymous with success at the annual tournament.
ZURICH – Representatives from the Korean Ice Hockey Association (KIHA) and the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games (POCOG) were in Zurich last week to meet with the IIHF.
