In its first game of the tournament in front of the home crowd, Chinese Taipei started putting pressure on the Mongolian net early on in the game and scored its first goal after 11 minutes despite Mongolia's sacrifying defence. Chinese Taipei scored once more at the end of the period to make it 0-2 after 20 minutes. The second period begun with breathtaking moments at both ends with Chinese Taipei scoring its third marker after five minutes and the fourth straight from the won offensive zone face off with three minutes left in the middle period. The fifth goal for Chinese Taipei was another face off goal less than ten seconds elapsed in the third. With two more goals Chinese Taipei made it 0-7 to start the tournament with 3 points.
