Malaysia-Kuwait (March 29)

Malaysia 5 - Kuwait 1

In the first game of the tournament Malaysia got a flying start to the game against Kuwait with two power play goals within first five minutes of the game. Tournament newcomer Kuwait seemed to be getting back into the game by succesfully killing two simultaneous penalties in the beginning of the second period, but only five minutes later Malaysia scored twice to make it 4-0 after two periods. In the beginning of the third period, Malaysia scored again on power play to make it 5-0. Kuwait shortened the lead with its first Challenge Cup goal around the 50-minute marker to make it 5-1.
