BRATISLAVA – The Slovak Ice Hockey Federation and Infront Sports & Media, the IIHF’s exclusive marketing partner for the World Championships, held their first meetings leading up to the 2011 IIHF World Championship in Bratislava and Kosice.
Infront representatives visited the Slovakian capital of Bratislava on Wednesday and Thursday to kick off preparations for the World Championship in two years. The 2011 World Championship Organizing Committee, which is currently being formed, was represented by Igor Nemecek, the General Secretary of the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation.
„The Executive Committee of the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation previously approved the signing of a contract with Infront for the 2011 World Championship in Slovakia," said Nemecek. “I am convinced that the first meeting was very beneficial for both sides. Infront Sports has a rich and extensive experience with organizing World Championships and we are eager to display our best efforts before the hockey world meets in Slovakia in 2011.”
„Infront Sports is the exclusive partner of the International Ice Hockey Federation in marketing and television rights for the World Championships. Our great co-operation dates back to the ‘80s,” said Infront’s Mark Buttermann.
"Personally, I am very satisfied. Not only because I had the opportunity to visit Slovakia for the first time, but mainly because we could exchange much information here after our informal meeting with Mr Nemecek in March,” said Infront’s Luciana Crameri, who was the head of marketing and events of the 2009 IIHF World Championship Organizing Committee in Switzerland.
A next meeting in Slovakia between the host organizer and Infront will take place in August 2009. “Our main interest will be the reconstruction of the arena in Bratislava and also preparing for the other venue in Kosice,” Crameri said. “After this two-day meeting, I feel very positive that our co-operation with the organizing committee will continue as well as it started.”
