Coaches' Corner 2012 Coaching SymposiumsThis year the International Coaching Symposiums will feature two separate symposiums that will be held in conjunction with the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Helsinki, Finland:
- IIHF International Youth Coaching Symposium: from 4th to 6th May 2012 is for youth ice hockey coaches.
- IIHF International Coaching Symposium: from 11th to 13th May 2012 will examine senior hockey.

Women's Coaching SymposiumLast year’s new initiative will continue: the International Women’s Coaching Symposium, operating annually during one of the IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championships.
This year the symposium will be held during the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division I Group A in Latvia on 31st March and 1st April 2012. This program is open to anyone involved in coaching female hockey players of any age.
The symposium will highlight and deal with the important issues relating to coaching female players and will provide an insight into how to create high-performance athletes, both on and off the ice. Esteemed members of the women’s hockey community will lead the sessions and offer their insight on these matters.
The registration will include all conference sessions as well as tickets to the final day of the championship.
Registration information and the symposium schedule will be available by the end of January 2012.
Vierumäki Sports InstituteBachelor Degree in Sports and Leisure with Emphasis on Ice Hockey Coaching
The Coaching Degree Program offered at the Vierumäki Institute by the HAAGA-HELIA University of Applied Sciences provides a unique opportunity for young enthusiastic coaches interested in pursuing an educational approach to ice hockey coaching. At the same time the program incorporates research and actual experience new ideas and initiatives generated directly from within the sport as part of the program curriculum.
