Germany promotes to 2003 IIHF World U20 Championship to be held in Halifax and Sydney, CANADA from 26.12.2002 to 06.01.2003.
Due to a restructured playing format of future IIHF World U20 Championships no team will be relegated from this tournament. Teams ranked 2 to 8 will continue to play in 2003 IIHF World U20 Championship Div I which will consist of 12 teams in two groups.
