DEL council elects Arnold after the passing of Gerd Schröder

COLOGNE, Germany – Jürgen Arnold of ERC Ingolstadt is the new chairman of the German hockey league DEL.

The 48-year-old was elected by the league council after his predecessor Gerd Schröder died two weeks ago. Herbert Frey of the Sinupret Ice Tigers Nuremberg continues to be vice-president. The other members are Wilfrid Fabel (Krefeld), Detlef Kornett (Eisbären Berlin) and Daniel Hopp (Adler Mannheim).

The DEL also announced the re-signing until 2012 of general manager Gernot Tripcke, who has been in that position since 2000.
