Canada announces final U20 roster

The title-holder releases 13 players from the camp and names its final IIHF Word U20 Championship roster.

Canada head coach Craig Hartsburg promises a team that will make Canada proud.

CALGARY, Canada - Hockey Canada invited 37 players to the junior national team camp. The competition for the 22 roster spots ended with today's selection. Among the players who were cut from the final roster are last year's backup goalie Leland Irving as well as other first round draft picks Zach Hamill, Keaton Ellerby, Angelo Esposito, Ty Wishart, and Brendan Smith. The team includes two players (Karl Alzner and Brad Marchand) who won the gold medal in Leksand, Sweden, at the World U20 Championship one year ago.
