BRATISLAVA – The final stage of ticket sales for the 2011 IIHF World Championship in Slovakia, April 29 to May 15, begins on Tuesday, 87 days before the start of the event. Single-game tickets will be made available for purchase as of noon on 1st February.
The organizers registered great interest in tickets for the World Championship that will be played in the two largest Slovak cities, Bratislava and Košice. More than 205,000 tickets have already been sold through ticket packages.
“Many potential visitors have been waiting for the moment single-game tickets go on sale,” the organizing committee’s chairman Igor Nemeček said. “We believe that this will boost sales especially in Košice, and fans will be able to get to see top-level international games.”
Sure to be in the middle of attention in Košice will be Olympic winner Canada, the United States and Sweden. “We have registered great interest in Belarus too. The fans from Belarus have been waiting for single-game tickets,” Nemeček added.
Single-game tickets in Bratislava and Košice for the Preliminary Round cost €30-55.
For the final round in Bratislava ticket prices start with €83 for a quarterfinal game and go up to €188-250 for the gold medal game.
The most inexpensive tickets are available for relegation round games for €10-19.
The official ticket sales partner for the 2011 IIHF World Championship is Ticketportal. The organizing committee warns from buying tickets through unofficial channels as tickets offered through other websites could potentially be invalid.
