New President for Dutch ice hockey

ZOETERMEER, Netherlands – Joop Vullers resigned as the President of the Ice Hockey Association of the Netherlands after chairing the organization for five years.

He’s succeeded by Ruud Vreeman, who was elected President on Monday. The board’s first decision was to name Vullers Honorary Member. Vullers will remain active in Dutch hockey and will chair the organising committee of the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship Division II Group A in Heerenveen.

Vreeman is a former board member of the National Olympic Committee, and the football and field hockey associations of the Netherlands.
