Germany starts ticket sales

Faces Austria, Italy in Final Olympic Qualification

BIETIGHEIM-BISSINGEN, Germany – The German Ice Hockey Association started the ticket sales for the Final Olympic Qualification in February 2013.

The Final Olympic Qualification Group D for the men’s ice hockey tournament in Sochi 2014 will be staged 7-10 February 2013 in Bietigheim-Bissingen, a city close to Stuttgart, in the new Eisarena Ellental.

The winner of the group that also includes Austria, Italy and a qualifier from the Olympic Pre-Qualification in November will play at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

Ticket prices start at €16 for a day ticket and €45 for a tournament package including six games and can be ordered through www.eventim.de or by phone +49 1805 570082.

Schedule:
7 February: Austria vs. Italy (16:00), Germany vs. Qualifier (19:30)
8 February: Austria vs. Qualifier (16:00), Italy vs. Germany (19:30)
10 February: Qualifier vs. Italy (11:45), Germany vs. Austria (15:15)

Germany will also host a group of the Final Olympic Qualification for the Olympic women’s ice hockey tournament in February. Germany, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic and a qualifier will battle it out for a ticket to Sochi in the city of Weiden.

The top-nine men’s hockey nations are already pre-qualified for Sochi 2014 and three more participants will be determined in seven tournaments over three stages involving 24 teams.

For the women’s tournament in Sochi the top-six nations are pre-qualified and two more teams will be determined in six tournaments over three stages involving 20 teams.

The kick-off date for the Olympic Qualification will be 17th September when Croatia hosts the men’s Olympic Preliminary Qualification in Zagreb with Serbia, Mexico and Israel as the opponents.

It will be followed by tournaments hosted from cities ranging from Barcelona in the west to Nikko, Japan, and Shanghai, China, in the east.
