Kyocera remains sponsor

World Championship partnership for print & copy services renewed

ZUG, Switzerland – Kyocera Document Solutions is continuing to rely on world-class ice hockey for the long-term: The managed document services provider has extended its sponsorship agreement with Infront Sports & Media, the exclusive marketing partner for the annual IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship ahead of time. In addition to this year’s event, Kyocera will also act as an Official Sponsor as well as Printing and Copying Partner for all tournaments from 2014 to 2017.

The company has been committed as Official Sponsor of the annual top event in international ice hockey for the past three years and will continue to benefit from a comprehensive package of rights. These include brand integration into the international TV graphics as Data Partner as well as various other promotional opportunities around the venues and hospitality tickets.

Copy and printing of more than half a million pages

Besides contributing as a sponsor, Kyocera furnishes all the Championship venues with multifunctional devices and printers, providing the organising committee and the media centre with 24-hour professional on-site service. With over half a million printed and copied pages during a typical World Championship, Kyocera has an ideal opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of its document imaging devices and the value of its reliability promise.

“This is an exciting partnership for us and gives us the opportunity to connect with our customers across Europe,“ notes Oliver Kreth, Kyocera Document Solutions' General Manager of European Marketing. „Our relationship with Infront started back in 2010 when we configured a multifaceted sponsorship package that ideally suits our brand and our target groups. In addition to the opportunities to promote our brand, we are glad to contribute our expertise in printing and copying to make the championship run more smoothly.“

Exposure in Central and Eastern Europe‘s emerging markets

Bruno Marty, Infront’s Executive Director Winter Sport adds: “The sponsor line-up of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship shows impressive continuity. An extension ahead of time – such as that with Kyocera, is always a great sign of the level of impact achieved through sponsorship, which gained additional boost through the record cumulative TV audience of over 900 million. The new contract cycle, will allow Kyocera to benefit even more from the sports platform, as the tournament is being hosted in Central and Eastern European cities it will provide the brand greater access to the attractive growth markets.”

Kyocera’s current contract runs through the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship jointly held in Sweden and Finland in 2013. Under the new agreement, Kyocera will support the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships taking place in 2014 in Belarus, 2015 in the Czech Republic, 2016 in Russia and 2017 at venues to be chosen next May.
