Women's senior team find success in debut

MEXICO CITY – Mexico advanced to next year’s IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group B by way of a victory in the round-robin qualification tournament held in Mexico City.

Both Mexico and Hong Kong made a little history by participating in the Women’s World Championship program for the first time ever. Mexico advanced with a perfect 3-0 record, outscoring the opposition 18-2 in a field that included Bulgaria, Hong Kong, and South Africa.

Mexico will now advance to the 2015 Division II Group B tournament.
