TORONTO – The Philadelphia Flyers won Saturday’s road game against Toronto, 3-2, in exact the same goal order as Canada did against Sweden in the U20 Championship final the same night.

Former Team Canada U20 gold medal winners Mike Richards, Jeff Carter and Steve Downie were following the game in the locker room before the game and during the first intermission - and scored the three Flyers goals. Like their national team, they took a 2-0 lead in the first period but Toronto cme back in the third period. Richards scored the game-winner for Philadelphia at 57:09.

"It was pretty impressive the way they hung in the final. They deserved it. Being a part of that a couple of years ago, I still get chills when I see a Canadian team hoist a cup at an international event," Richards told the Canadian Press.
