I agree with the writers on various topics. More...
... It is true that until the true elite players are allowed to play one cannot call the tournament a true World Championship. Also I am very happy to see the Swiss doing very well. After some years ago in the World Juniors Tournament they surprised the Russians on two goals by Nino Niederreiter and the goaltending of Benjamin Conz. What is Conz doing these days. Finally, I am happy that the U.S.A. did so well, I am disappointed that Canada did not do so well. My three favourite teams are U.S.A. (my birth country), Canada (where I studied for one year), and Switzerland.

Why does the IIHF not want to have a true World Championship, one that is contested by the elite More...
...players of the world? I could not imagine FIFA hosting a World Cup or Euro during the Group Stage or Knocikout Phase of the UEFA Champions League. Unitl the IIHF schedules the WC when the elite players of the world are available and willing to play the WC cannot truly be considered a WC.

Thanks to the ice hockey world for most interesting games. More...
...
Of course, as a Finn it is very disappointing to end up at the 4th place twice in the row.
Anyway, life will go on, and as a very small nation, it is nice to still have a ranking of 2nd in the world.

We are forgetting to give praise to the Swiss tem. More...
... I am an American of Slovak origin, and rooting for the Americans and Slovaks, but this year I was rooting for the Swiss. This tem has shown more guts than any team in the championship. I was wishing that they would have won the gold, because they deserved it. I wish the Swiss team all the best and to see them again kicking ass of all the top teams. I am very disappointed, that the media and the IIHF site did not give more praise to the Swiss for their performance. I always root for the unexpected underdog. The Swiss deserved a better coverage and fair description of their accomplishments in this tournament. Rise up you fair fans of hockey and root for the Swiss!!!!!!!!!
