QUEBEC CITY – The IIHF announced Saturday that the top international hockey story of the century (1908-2008) is the 1980 “Miracle on Ice”, in which the USA shocked the Soviet Union 4-3 at the Olympics.
Adding Evgeni Nabokov was the last piece of the Russian puzzle. Now he wants to stop the Canadians.

QUEBEC CITY – Coach Vyacheslav Bykov had a visit from Father Frost, the Russian equivalent of Santa Claus. Usually he comes around in his blue coat on New Year’s Day, but for Bykov, the big present came on May 5.
