LJUBLJANA – The Slovenian national team wins the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division I Group A on home ice after defeating Austria for gold, 3-2. Ukraine wins on the last day, but loses the battle for survival.

LJUBLJANA – Austria and Slovenia will be promoted to the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Stockholm, Sweden, and Helsinki, Finland, after securing the top-two spots at the ongoing Division I Group A in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

LJUBLJANA – Two years ago at the World Championship Division I three players from Jesenice were symbolic for Slovenia’s new generation of players. Now they’re the first offensive line: Ziga Jeglic, Robert Sabolic and Rok Ticar.
