2013 Coaching Symposiums

This year the International Coaching Symposiums will feature two separate symposiums that will be held in conjunction with the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Stockholm, Sweden:

1. IIHF International Youth Coaching Symposium: from 3-5 May 2013 is for youth ice hockey coaches. This symposium is already fully booked.
2. IIHF International Coaching Symposium: from 10-12 May 2013 will examine senior hockey. Flyer (PDF) / Registration

Vierumäki Sports Institute

Bachelor Degree in Sports and Leisure with Emphasis on Ice Hockey Coaching

The Coaching Degree Program offered at the Vierumäki Institute by the HAAGA-HELIA University of Applied Sciences provides a unique opportunity for young enthusiastic coaches interested in pursuing an educational approach to ice hockey coaching. At the same time the program incorporates research and actual experience new ideas and initiatives generated directly from within the sport as part of the program curriculum. This win-win approach, designed for the operation of an educational degree program and the actual development of the sport through research and applied sciences offers participants with an exciting new opportunity to grow and develop our sport while earning a degree in the world’s fastest team sport.
