Swiss Roger Bader to aim for promotion

VIENNA – The Austrian Ice Hockey Association named Roger Bader as new head coach of the U20 national team.

Bader, who was coaching the U18 national team of his native country Switzerland for three years, joined the Austrian Ice Hockey Association in May as responsible for education and development. At the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division I Group A in Asiago he will aim for promotion against Norway, Latvia, Belarus, Slovenia and host Italy.

Five weeks later at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Austria (Vorarlberg) and Liechtenstein he will coach the Austrian selection with players born in 1998 and 1999.

Dieter Werfring will continue to coach the Austrian U18 national team that will play in the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship Division I Group B in Maribor against Italy, host Slovenia, Japan, Ukraine and Lithuania.
