For hockey fans who don’t have tickets to games at the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, you are invited to visit the Official Fanzones in Bratislava and Kosice and soak up the incredible atmosphere. Located near the arenas in both cities, these Official Fanzones will be full of excitement and entertainment, a place where you can eat, drink, and, of course, watch hockey.

In Bratislava, the Official Fanzones will be located in front of Istropolis, and in Kosice in Kulturpark. Both Official Fanzones are within easy walking distance of the arenas. “The Official Fanzones are for everyone, not just ticket holders,“ explained Lukas Donoval, the Partnerships and Special Projects Director of the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. „Entry is free, and the atmosphere will be just as amazing as inside the arenas.“

Both Official Fanzones will open on May 10 and will be open all tournament long one hour before the first game of each day. Gates will close one hour after the finish of the last game each day, and in between will be plenty of action.

Visitors can look forward to watching WM games on huge TV screens, and there will be entertainment throughout the day hosted by celebrities from Fun radio. At Istropolis, your hosts will be Sajfa, Julo, Vera, Didiana, and Mimo, and in Kulturpark you can expect to see Junior and Marcel.

“It is an honour for us to be a part of the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship and the Official Fanzones,“ said host Milan Zimnykoval, alias Junior.„My colleagues and I will make sure that the atmosphere is thrilling for Slovaks and fans from around the world. We are confident that our Slovak national team will be playing in both Kosice to Bratislava, and by that I mean that the team will qualify for the playoff round!“

The Official Fanzones will host many activities by Official Sponsors and Partners, and there will be draws for tickets every day. This means that some fans will start their day in the Fanzone and finish it in the arena watching a game live!

There will also be a food court where visitors can enjoy a wide range of meals and drinks in a relaxing setting. You can have a seat, watch the game on the large-screen TVs, and soak up the atmosphere for as long as you want. This area is an exclusive offer to WM fans because the International Ice Hockey Federation, owners of the broadcastings rights, have not licensed anyone else to provide this kind of entertainment.

“We invite fans to spend time at the Official Fanzones even if they don‘t have tickets. And if they do, they can come before the game. We will do our best to provide the most enjoyable experience possible,“ Donoval added.
