In the draw, one can win an opportunity to purchase day tickets for the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship games played in Tampere and in Riga. All tournament days are included in the draw for Tampere, from preliminary round to the final day. For preliminary round in Riga the draw includes day tickets for the dates when team Latvia is playing.

To participate in the draw, everybody interested in buying day tickets should register themselves. As tickets to Tampere and Riga are sold via different operators, the registration needs to be done for either Tampere or Riga – or both, if fans want to buy day tickets to both venues.

The draw will take place after the registration period. Winners of the draw will be informed if they have won the purchase rights to the tickets they registered for in the draw and how and when the purchase can be done.

After the purchase period, the remaining day tickets will go on sale publicly.

“In 2022, the interest was huge for the games played in Tampere. With the draw, we aim to ensure that all ice hockey fans have an equal opportunity to get tickets to the most popular games,“ says Heikki Hietanen, General Secretary of the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Organizing Committee in Finland.

“The IIHF Ice World Hockey Championship is an important event and a special celebration for Finnish and Latvian hockey fans. In both countries, there will be a high demand for home team game tickets and highly anticipated clashes between larger teams. We believe that the lottery draw will create equal conditions for every hockey fan,” says Edgars Buncis, CEO of the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Organizing Committee in Latvia.

Single-game tickets are expected to be released in February 2023.
