The organizers of the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship have signed a memorandum with rescue services regarding joint cooperation during the event.

The 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship will take place from May 10 to May 26, 2024 in Prague and Ostrava. With an expected high number of visitors, cooperation with state agencies is necessary, particularly in the areas of maintaining public order, transportation services, and the involvement of an integrated emergency system.
I am pleased that we can build on the excellent cooperation with the security forces from the last 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. The signing of this memorandum is the basis for successfully organizing the event. The safety of teams, organizers, fans, and all those involved is one of our priorities. I am convinced that our cooperation will be successful again,
Alois Hadamczik, president of the Czech Ice Hockey Association
The memorandum follows the experience and proven practices from the  2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. It precisely defines the powers and duties of individual entities. The Czech Ice Hockey Association is responsible for security at hockey games, fan zones, and hotels where players, referees, and other event staff will be accommodated. The Czech police and Fire Rescue Service will handle security in public areas, road safety, pyrotechnic inspections, fire protection, security at airports in Prague and Ostrava, and security on transportation routes.
