It’s the last round of the group stage and, while six teams have already secured their spots among the last 16, there are still 10 places available with 17 teams in contention for them. Some of the scenarios are quite straightforward while others could potentially come down to tiebreaking procedures.

Here's how it looks in the eight groups heading into Gameday 6 on Tuesday and Wednesday:

Group A

Already qualified: Nobody.

Could qualify this week:

EHC Biel-Bienne (SUI) – win or OT loss. If they lose in regulation, they would still qualify if the loss is by 4 goals or less, or if Tappara Tampere fail to win in regulation.

Tappara Tampere (FIN) – win in regulation. They could also qualify with less than that, provided their point total remains greater than or equal to KAC Klagenfurt’s.

KAC Klagenfurt (AUT) – win by 5 goals or more. They could also possibly qualify with a lesser regulation win, an OT win or an OT loss, provided their point total exceeds Tappara Tampere’s.

Group B

Already qualified: EV Zug (SUI) and HC Plzen (CZE).

Group C

Already qualified: Lulea Hockey (SWE).

Could qualify this week:

Augsburger Panther (GER) – win or OT loss.

Bili Tygri Liberec (CZE) – win in regulation.

Group D

Already qualified: Nobody.

Could qualify this week:

Lausanne HC (SUI) – win of any kind. Could also qualify with a loss of any kind, provided their point total remains greater than or equal to Yunost Minsk’s.

Ocelari Trinec (CZE) – win of any kind. Could also advance with an OT loss provided that Yunost Minsk lose, or with a regulation loss provided that Yunost Minsk also lose in regulation but don’t get outscored by 8+ goals by Lahti Pelicans.

Yunost Minsk (BLR) – regulation win. Could also qualify with an OT win or OT loss, provided they finish ahead of either Lausanne HC or Ocelari Trinec in points (they would lose all tie-breaking scenarios with both teams).

Lahti Pelicans (FIN) – win by 8 goals or more combined with Ocelari Trinec regulation loss.

Group E

Already qualified: Nobody.

Could qualify this week:

Skelleftea AIK (SWE) – win of any kind or OT loss. Would also qualify with a regulation loss if SC Bern lose in any way.

Karpat Oulu (FIN) – regulation win. Could also qualify with an OT win or loss of any kind, provided they finish with more points than SC Bern.

SC Bern (SUI) – regulation win. Could also qualify with an OT win or OT loss, provided their point total is greater than or equal to Karpat Oulu‘s.

Group F

Already qualified: Djurgarden Stockholm (SWE), Adler Mannheim (GER).

Group G

Already qualified: Red Bull Munich (GER).

Could qualify this week:

Farjestad Karlstad (SWE) – win of any kind. Could also qualify with a loss of any kind, provided their point total is greater than or equal to HC Ambri-Piotta’s.

HC Ambri-Piotta (SUI) – a regulation or OT win, provided their point total is great than Farjestad Karlstad’s.

Group H

Already qualified: Nobody.

Could qualify this week:

Frolunda Gothenburg (SWE) – win of any kind or OT loss. Could also qualify with a regulation loss, provided Mountfield Hradec Kralove lose in OT or regulation.

Mountfield Hradec Kralove (CZE) – win of any kind.

Cardiff Devils (GBR) – regulation win, or an OT win if Mountfield Hradec Kralove lose in 60 minutes.
