Young Canadian coach Tracie Leost is the first-generation urban indigenous person in her family from the Metis Nation. She’s a hockey coach, a graduate student of social work and an ice fisher.

At 16 years old, she ran 140 kilometres to raise awareness for missing and murdered indigenous women and girls and now she is empowering indigenous youth living in the Winnipeg area.

She tells her story in this episode of “By Her Rules”, a series produced by Olympic Channel. The series has five episodes which follow five female athletes who are risking it all to change the course of their lives and the world around them.
