Switzerland will host the 2020 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship from 8 to 24 May 2020 in Zurich and Lausanne, and the website for the biggest annual winter sport event in 2020 has been launched on 18 December.

The heritage building Hallenstadion in Zurich – originally built in 1939 with the interior completely rebuilt during one year to reopen 2005 – will be the main venue and offer space for 11,200 spectators.

Lausanne in the French-speaking part of the country will be the other host city with a new 9,500-seat arena to open for the 2019/2020 season to host not only the Worlds but also the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games.

The ticket sale will start in spring 2019. If you don’t want to miss it you can register for the ticket alert or sign up for hospitality offers. The volunteer registration will also open in spring.
