Team USA forward Ryan Poehling was the Most Valuable Player of the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Following the gold medal game of the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship the winner of the individual awards and the All-Star Team have been announced by the International Ice Hockey Federation.

A few seconds separated Ryan Poehling from winning World Juniors gold after a great tournament. The Team USA forward was voted Most Valuable Player by the media, made the All-Star Team and was also voted Best Forward by the tournament directorate.

Poehling was USA’s scoring leader with five goals and eight points in seven games. He was third in scoring only behind Russia’s Grigori Denisenko (Russia, 4+5) and Aleksi Heponiemi (Finland, 3+6).
