Join the 2019 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship volunteers’ team! Around 400 volunteers are needed to help with event arrangements. Deadline for applications is 16 November.
The organizer is looking to recruit volunteers to help with tournament operations at Espoo’s Metro Arena but also in other tasks like accreditation, ticket sales, content production and transportation.
“We wish to create a warm and welcoming event for all participants. Volunteers are a great part of the event atmosphere,” General Secretary Tuula Puputti says.
Volunteers are expected to be over 16 years of age, friendly and outgoing. The shifts will be 6-8 hours long and volunteers are asked for commitment of a minimum of five days during the event. Volunteers will get an event outfit and warm meal during their shift. Volunteers will neither receive compensation for travel nor accommodation.
All applicants are expected to speak at least moderate Finnish, and therefore also the online application form is available in Finnish only.
“For the volunteers being part of the volunteer team gives a possibility to experience the event in a unique way and to make new friends,” Puputti says.
