The Swiss women’s national team lost one of it’s top forwards in Alina Muller, who will not be able to return to play at the 2021 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship.
Muller suffers from an ankle injury in Saturday’s game against ROC when she fell awkwardly underneath a diving Olga Sosina and had to be helped off the ice. After various tests she was ruled out for the remainder of the tournament but will remain in Calgary with the team.
“The loss of a player of her calibre we won’t be able to compensate 1:1,” said Swiss head coach Colin Muller. “The more we now have to stick together as a team and achieve the most in the remaining games with a fighting spirit and sacrifice.”
