There’s nothing like coming back to win a gold medal in sudden-death overtime, and Canada did just that to end a nine-year drought and top our final 2021 Power Rankings.

After captain Marie-Philip Poulin’s thrilling golden goal gave Canada a 3-2 overtime win over the U.S. in the Women’s Worlds final, the host nation finishes first in our last 2021 Power Rankings. The heartbroken Americans are second, while Finland comes third with the bronze medal. Thank you to everybody for celebrating the passion, excitement, and fun of IIHF women’s hockey with us!
