The 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship organizing committee has officially announced its event mascot!

Meet Miracleo Lion, the new event mascot from the tournament!

The lion mascot appears in the colors of the northern lights according to the “Making Miracles” theme of the tournament. Miracleo will cheer with ice hockey fans in the arenas, the Official Fan Zones and various events before and during the 2022 IIHF World Championship.

“According to the theme of the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, Miracleo mascot reminds us that each of us can make small miracles every day in the spirit of community, fun and sustainability, which are the values of the 2022 IIHF World Campionship,” said Heikki Hietanen, General Secretary for the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World CHampionship Organizing Committee.

The ticket draw and subsequent purchasing round for the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship has ended. Some tickets for Tampere games are currently still available. It is expected that tickets may still be available for sale as event structures such as studios and international quotas are confirmed.

The 2022 IIHF Worlds atmosphere can be enjoyed in the Official Fan Zones. In Tampere, the Fan Zone is right next to the train station. In Helsinki, the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship visitors can experience the world's biggest Fan Zone: the Mall of Tripla.

Tickets will still be available for sale – it is highly encouraged to buy tickets from official channels

There are currently no tickets available for all the games, however, Heikki Hietanen, Secretary General of the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, promises that there is still hope to get tickets to the games that are currently sold out:

“I can promise that there will be more tickets available for the games that are currently sold out as event structures like studios and international quotas are confirmed. Just keep an eye on the 2022 IIHF World Championship communication channels.”

For the first time, a ticket draw was used in the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship which worked out very well.

“The Ticket Draw was rather successful. However, we have become aware of problems with tickets purchased through non-official channels. Our strong recommendation is to buy tickets from the official ticket sales channels, so that the ticket is sure to be genuine and offer entrance to the game. By purchasing tickets through official channels, one will also receive an information package closer to the tournament and we can make sure that if the ticket price must be refunded for any reason, the refund will go to the right person. We do not have the means to ensure these things except for tickets purchased through official channels,” said Hietanen.

In Tampere, the Fan Zone can be reached from Track One – in Helsinki, we have the world's biggest Fan Zone

The atmosphere of the 2022 IIHF World Championship can also be reached in the Official Fan Zones. Something completely new is being experienced in Helsinki when the world's biggest Fan Zone, the Mall of Tripla, is in use. Official Fan Zone activities can be found at Tripla's Cultural Square and the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship visual identity will be recognizable throughout Tripla.

In Tampere, the Official Fan Zone is right next to the train station and the atmosphere can be reached directly from track one. There will be tents in the area where you can for example watch Team Finland games if you did not manage to get a ticket for the game.

“I am excited that we can offer ice hockey fans experiences in the city as well as in the arenas. In this way, all Helsinki and Tampere residents, guests from other parts of Finland and international guests can get into the 2022 IIHF World Championship atmosphere even outside the games. The Official Fan Zones will host various activities from game viewing to performers, interviews, mascot visits and competition information,” said Hietanen.

A new Partner for the event

Furthermore, the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship is pleased to announce a new partnership as Hartwall joins our Official Partners. All Helsinki games will be played at the Hartwall Arena.
