Official Fan Zones will be the second-best place to be during the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship: if one can’t make it to the arenas, the Official Fan Zones in both cities, Tampere and Helsinki, are the places to be, to watch the games and enjoy the atmosphere. The Official Fan Zone in Helsinki will be the world’s biggest of its kind, and in Tampere fans get to submerge themselves into the atmosphere right after getting off the train.
Official Fan Zones will open at least one hour prior to the first game of the day. The event program is plentiful and there are things to do and experience long after the evening game has ended. There will be screens to watch all the games and cheer with other hockey fans.
Official Fan Zones offer also different kinds of events outside the game schedule: magicians, musicians, DJs, the Official Mascot Miracleo and ice hockey stars.
”Right from the beginning, we’ve wanted the 2022 IIHF World Championship to be as inclusive as possible and offer experiences to a wide audience. If you can’t make it to the arena, you can still truly enjoy the World Championship atmosphere, at accessible and free Official Fan Zones that are open for everyone,” said Heikki Hietanen, General Secretary for the Local Organizing Committee.
Miracleo stands with fun, community and sustainability
The 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship values are fun, community and sustainability. Our mascot, Miracleo, acts as an ambassador for these values. During the spring, Miracleo has toured e.g. in schools in the Helsinki area as well as made appearances at e.g. junior ice hockey tournaments. Miracleo will be very visible also during the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship both in Tampere and Helsinki.
