The United States’ Taylor Heise has been named the Most Valuable Player of the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship.

Heise led the tournament—her debut senior World Championship—in scoring with seven goals and 11 assists. Her 18 points puts her second behind record-holder Cindy Curley for the most points by a player in a single Women’s World Championship.

Centering Alex Carpenter and Amanda Kessel, Heise registered two five-point games and at least one point in six of the United States' seven games.

The 2021-22 Patty Kazmaier Award recipient and triple U18 gold medallist was also named Best Forward and to the Media All-Star Team. She has received these three tournament honours once before, at the 2018 U18 Women’s World Championship.
