Sweden and the Czech Republic will meet again at the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship on the last day of the preliminary round.

The cities of Linkoping and Mjolby, Sweden will host the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship from 8 to 15 January 2022.

After the event could not been held in Sweden last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the countermeasures affecting events in the country and for the participating teams, the U18 Women’s Worlds are ready to be held at the two cities in the Ostergotland region with all ten teams committed to travel to the event and battle for the world title in women’s junior hockey.

Today the ticket sale has started with day tickets for the preliminary-round games in Linkoping and Mjolby for the price of 50 to 100 kronor (approx. €5-10) for both games in the venue on a selected day.

With the start of the ticket sale the game schedule has been announced. Played in two tiers, the Group A games including Team USA, Canada, Russia and Finland will be hosted at ProTrain Arena in Mjolby. Host Sweden will play at Stangebro Ishall in Linkoping along with the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Germany.

Each team will play three games in a single round robin 8-11 January with the four teams from Group A and the best two Group B teams advancing to the final round in Linkoping while the bottom two teams of Group B will play a best-of-three relegation round in Mjolby. The tournament will end with the medal games on 15 January.
