Riga is the capital of Latvia and the centre of the Baltics. Riga is also the largest city in the Baltic States in terms of population with its 627 487 inhabitants.

In 2014 Riga was recognized as the European Capital of Culture (ECoC). The Old Town of Riga is also included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List, and its splendour will not leave anyone indifferent.
The city's historical and cultural heritage coexists very harmoniously with its modern and artistic architecture.
The churches built in the beginnings of Riga, as well as the medieval buildings in the old town and the wooden architecture that has survived for many centuries can be seen in one place in the city.
