On Tuesday, August 22, the second phase of registration to secure priority purchasing rights for tickets to the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship started. According to expectations, the highest demand is for games involving the home team.
Of the total number of over 80,000 registrations, 50,000 are from fans of the Czech team, with the second most sought-after team being Slovakia, with an estimated 13,000 registered users. The third most favored team is Poland with over 5,000 registrations. Fans are also showing significant interest for games featuring Canada and Finland, with more than 3,000 and 2,000 registrations respectively.
First phase sales for ticket draw winners only, second phase for all participants
The competition is being held to provide the opportunity to purchase up to 6 tickets for one game day of the Preliminary Round of the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. In the second phase, which is now opened and will last until September 15, each participant can select their preferred team and the specific daily package that they are interested in. If someone did not register during the first phase, they will complete both registration parts at once.
The draw will take place from September 18 to 24, 2023. The participants can be selected for each game day according to their preferences in the registration form and have the opportunity to purchase tickets for multiple game days. The ticket purchasing system for users with priority rights will be accessible from October 2 at 10:00 until October 4, 2023, at 23:59 CET. Unsold tickets will be available during the second phase of priority purchase from October 6 to 8, 2023, until 23:59. The second phase of priority purchase will be based on a "first come, first served" principle. Just a few days later, on October 10 at 10:00, the public ticket sale will start.
