More than 120,000 applicants took the opportunity to register for the draw to obtain the priority right to purchase tickets for the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Prague and Ostrava. The highest interest, almost half of the registrations, is for the games of the Czech team. Games of the Slovak, Polish and Finnish teams were also among the most popular.
A total number of 123 218 fans registered for the draw to obtain the priority right to purchase tickets.
The Organizing Committee of the 2024 IIHF WM in Prague and Ostrava noted a huge interest of fans for the ticket priority purchase draw. The sales system will be available to the lucky winners from 2 October 10:00 to 4 October 23:59 CET. Unused tickets of the first round of priority purchase, which will be on a first-come, first-served basis, will be available in a second round to all registrants (excluding first round winners) from 6 October 10:00 to 8 October 23:59 CET. Up to 8 daily packages can be chosen per registrant in the ticket draw.
In the registration process, fans showed the greatest interest for the games of the Czech team, specifically for the opening game on Friday 10 May vs. Finland, Tuesday 21 May vs. Canada, Monday 13 May vs. Switzerland and Saturday 18 May vs. Great Britain. Slovakia is the most preferred team in Group B and the highest fan interest is for the opening game vs. Germany. It is followed by the game on Friday 10 May, opposing the USA and Sweden.
General tickets sale starts on 10 October with a simultaneous launch of the merchandising webshop
The start of the general ticket sale is scheduled for 10 October 10:00 CET. The condition for purchasing tickets is to create an account with the given ticket operator, from which fans will want to purchase tickets. Due to greater fluidity and a simpler purchase process, the organizers recommend registering in advance. Payment for purchased tickets is only possible by card and tickets will be distributed only in electronic form. In the public sale, it will be possible to buy up to 8 tickets for one game day and a maximum of 24 tickets in one purchase. The sale of individual tickets (so-called single tickets) will then start in January 2024.
Tickets for all games of the Preliminary Round and both Ostrava quarter-finals, and tickets for the playoff games in Prague will be available via two different ticket operator platforms. More information about the official ticket sales channels:
For the first time, the 2024 IIHF WM online merchandising shop will be launched simultaneously with a selection of souvenirs at choice. The full merchandising collection will become available over the next months until the on-site stores will open their doors in May 2024.
