The 2024 IIHF Championship Disciplinary Panel for the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship has issued a warning against Kirsten SIMMS for checking from behind.
The incident occurred at 56:46 in the 3rd period of Game #9 (CZE v. USA) on 05.04.2024.
The Championship Disciplinary Panel determined that while Official Playing Rule 43 was violated, the severity of the penalty called on the ice (5 minute Major + a game misconduct) coupled with the level of fault of the Player warrants a warning rather than a game suspension, therefore it was decided she shall be sanctioned as follows:
