The Swiss are still standing strong in first place in the fourth edition of the Power Rankings prior to the 2026 quarter-finals.

Are you ready for the passion and intensity of the quarter-finals? After an exciting wrap-up to the group stage, here are the fourth Power Rankings of the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. The host Swiss pulled off a hard-fought 4-2 victory versus Finland to stay perfect and top Group A – they’ll battle Sweden in the quarter-finals. The Canadians got two goals from captain Macklin Celebrini in a 3-2 comeback win over the Czechs and move up into second place ahead of their showdown with their American rivals. The Finns, who slip to third, also got two goals from their captain, Aleksander Barkov, and hope to rally around him in their do-or-die game versus Czechia. We’re all fired up to see what the quarter-finals bring on Thursday!
