With the first games of the 2021 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship set to take place today, the IIHF would like to provide an update on the COVID-19 testing results for all 16 teams.

From the teams’ entry into the 2021 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Bubble, a total of over 2,750 COVID-19 PCR tests have been administered to all players and team staff.

One Kazakhstan player tested positive and has been placed in isolation as a result of a positive test result from their Pre-Travel Camp that was performed in Riga. No other positive cases have been reported.

During the tournament, each team will continue with PCR tests every three days until the conclusion of the event.
