Refs for the medal games

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has named the game officials of the medal games at the 2021 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship.

For the players in Calgary the goal is to battle for and win gold. For the game officials the top recognition is to be part of the gold medal game.

Same as the players on their team, the referees and linespersons are closely followed by the crew of four officiating coaches and support staff, are coached on and off the ice and their have their performances being evaluated.

After nine days of game action, the nominations for the gold medal game between Canada and the USA went to referees Anniina Nurmi and Anna Wiegand, and to linespersons Anna Hammar and Julia Kainberger.

The bronze medal game between Finland and Switzerland will be officiated by referees Kelly Cooke and Lacey Senuk, and linespersons Alexandra Blair and Kendall Hanley.
